It certainly does add bulk but if you need a tripod plate and a grip this does it all in one. The main problem as I see it is if I’m using a tripod then I don’t need a grip and if I’m not using a tripod then I don’t need this set at all and will use a half case instead. I guess if I’m out and about and my shooting is likely to be 50/50 then this setup would make sense.
